Today I read 1 Nephi 17. Reading in Spanish again has gotten me to pay more attention, or at least think about the scriptures because I have to focus. In the chapter Nephi's bow breaks and they can't get meat. This is hard, but later in the story we are told that the entire journey, including this part with the broken bow, the Lord had made their raw meat sweet so they didn't have to cook it. Everyone murmurered about not having food. The sad part is they had had an amazing miracle in front of them every day. Instead of remembering that the food they had been eating every day was a miracle, they instead focused on not having it. It just makes me wonder what small miracles are in my life everyday. I have miracles and it makes me sad that I don't thank the Lord for the small things more often. Instead we focus on little problem, when we have amazing miracles placed in front of us all the time.
Small things I am thankful for today: A phone. Legs that work. Friends. New shoes that are warm even in the winter. My family. Farsi
